{July 9, 2009}   Help!

Ok, I’m trying to knit Guy (the boyfriend finally has a name on here that isn’t his real one!) some socks, but I don’t know what the circumference should be.
Yes, I’ve knit my Dad socks but my Dad also puts up with a whole lot of sock trials to get a proper fit over his extra large calves (Dad if you’re reading this sorry but it’s true, and it’s all muscle to your benefit!).
However Guy is built more like your average tall man in his 20’s so my best guess is a leg circumference of 9.5 inches, is this a good estimate?

p.s. Yes I’ve tried the good old fashioned ask him to measure thing three times, but he only tells me his shoe size, which doesn’t help me too much for circumference.

{February 26, 2009}   February 26

Ok, well first off my Grandmother’s surgery went surprisingly well. She decided to come home the day after (doctor said she could stay another night but the singing nurses were getting on her nerves) and the hard part was getting her to sit still and rest.

Life apparently still goes on, I’m back in school and currently avoiding the couple of chapters for school I should be reading but I thought I’d post quickly and then go work (bad me I know).

Knitting sadly has come to a near grinding halt (because I refuse to cast something on with my sweater unfinished but all that is left is seaming and tying in ends). I could finish my dad’s socks, but they’re cotton ad I’m rather fond of keeping my wrists at the moment.

So that’s all for now, though I do hope to finish that sweater this weekend after I’m caught up for school. Ciao.

{May 17, 2008}   *Squee*

My pattern has been mentioned on the Daily Chum! My Dad’s Father’s Day Socks that is up on my old blog that I’ve been lagging behind to turn into a PDF file and move it to Ravelry or this blog. I litterally squeeked when I saw I had been mentioned, it was very cool for me.

(Not sure how clear the pattern is, since it was never actually test knit so if you have any question of find any errata just message me on Ravelry my name there is Nea. Or leave a comment on this blog, because I can’t actaully reply from the old blog.

I so need to blog more often, and this time I know I will. I have a meme lined up, and since the boyfriend is going out of town for work, I have a bit of time on my hands these next two weeks =(. Not that I’m at all happy about that, but I can live with it, it’s not as long as it could be so here’s to hoping that he only has to be gone those two weeks.

{March 21, 2008}   Can’t Blog

Must knit. Since I casted on for the shrug I’m supposed to wear on Sunday, I’ve knit a whole inch. Not because I’m that slow, but because I’m that busy.

I went out with friends for lunch earlier today, followed by a doctor appointment, and then the Good Friday service at church. And tomorrow, I’ll be shopping for most of the day with my mother since we’ll be in LA to visit my Grandmother. Did I also mention that my birthday is on Sunday as well? Yeah, I’m running out of time to knit this thing. But on the plus side. I’m soooo thrilled that tomorrow will be my last day as a teenager officially, because I haven’t felt like on for a long while.

So I may not post anything tomorrow, but trust me. I’ll have my camera with me this weekend and there will be some great blog fodder when I return.

{February 25, 2008}   *Facepalm*

The good: I finished Starsky

The bad: It’s going to be over 70F the rest of the week and it usually stays that way once March starts, say oh, next week?

So: I’m crocheting a bikini, what? it’s not like I’ll wear it out, just in the backyard when it’s warm enough to get in the pool.

And now, I’m going to go and color my hair. *crosses fingers* Just please let it not turn red!

{February 24, 2008}   And the Belt goes on…

I never really realized just how long it would take to finish the belt. I’m half way through now, but it’s starting to warm up to just a smidgen higher than 60 degrees F. so it’s pushing the wool tolerance level for me as I usually over-warm myself by shivering at that temperature.

There is a possibility of hiking tomorrow after church, but I’m going to wait to decide until I see what the weather is like because right now, it sounds like the wind is trying to rip roof shingles from the roof.

{February 23, 2008}   Project Monogamy

It really makes me feel like I get through things much faster. The belt for Starsky is a little tedious but I just sit with it while playing World of Warcraft and knit on flight paths and other “breaks” and in just 2 days I’ve almost finished 2 feet out of the 5 needed.

Also, I’m looking into what to knit next. A lacy sweater, a summer tank, or a bikini (but that’s crochet and I technically only have to finish the bottom piece). Right now I’m leaning towards the bikini just to get it done with since it’s been a UFO for almost a year now. Actually I need to try that top on again because I did gain an extra 2 inches in the bust since then (I’m not complaining, but as I’ve gotten used to being predominantly flat it’s strange to have something actually there).
