Redeemed Rose

{August 16, 2008}   The FO’s since we last met

Or at least the ones from my 2 month hiatus. (And no Bullwinkle I would not run off with the BF, but if I did, I’d still post updates.)

And the basic ankle socks for my sister’s 18th birthday:

(I wanted her to model these, but she’s not the sock modeling type.)

There, I’m now caught up with the finished socks, one tank to go and then I’ll reveal my new current projects. Then we can see how well I can keep to updates with my knitting.

Now pardon me while I go textbook shopping. (Ugh! Thank goodness ballet doesn’t require a book.)

{April 22, 2008}   Look! Knitting!

Yuppers, I’ve actually been knitting lately. And here’s the proof:

 P4220021

An entire sock! Well, ankle sock since it’s for me. The pattern is Waders from the now gone MagKnits, otherwise I might have actually linked that. It was quick and sock number 2 is now on the needles.

And as a big surprise, the reason I got into my knitting mood? The Boyfriend, yup he and I were talking about books and recommended the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and oh my goodness I zoomed through a 573 page book in less than a week. (If only I could do that with my textbooks *sigh*.) How did this inspire the knitting you may ask? Well my hands had to do something while I read (I know know why I stopped knitting when I stopped watching television, duh!) so this pattern was perfect, I could look down for the pattern less then 25% of every two rounds and just feel the rest as I read.

And now onto another undetermined length of time of no posts because school is wrapping up paper-wise and I’ve also added a new class to the mix, as well as the volunteer work for church, the Boyfriend (that I’ve never had to figure out time management-wise for over three years so that’s a little tricky, and other social endeavors that keep me running. Oh and also, I need to start job-hunting. Yeah, this is going to be fun.

{March 20, 2008}   Out of Practice

Not exactly in the mood to blog, but I think that’s because I’ve gotten out of habit.

So bear with me today, you’ll see better tomorrow when after I break the long pause.

First I’ve been working on Notorious, by Annie Modesitt. I love it, and I just hope it’ll fit the girls when I get to that part. So far I’m half way through the waist shaping.

(You should be able to click on it to see it bigger)

Then last night I casted on for Diamond Rib Lace Shrug, it’s a little farther along since that’s what I’m working on at the moment. Here’s to hoping I can finish it to wear on Sunday.

Also, since I’ve been gone a couple things have happened. First, I’ve picked up tatting. I like it, but I’m seriously questioning how much of my passion for knitting is fueled by just liking to play with string.
Second, I’m not sure if I should mention quite yet. But I thought I’d use this as a placeholder just in case things keep going in a positive direction. (Yes, it does involve a guy. But I’m too scared to commit to saying any more than that.)
Oh, I’m also working on stretches to increase my flexibility. I was *this* close to being able to do the splits as a cheerleader when the season ended and I could use the flexibility still. Besides, I’ve noticed my headaches aren’t attacking me quite as much as a result of this. Which is a major plus.

And the kitty shot, since she’s been hanging around on my bed all day.
